Golf in Thailand!

This past weekend I headed to a special event in Bangkok (actually in Chonburi) and suburb outside of Bangkok. The event was The Royal Trophy, the Asia vs. Europe golf match. It was a lot of fun, Asia won for the first time! One comical thing about the golf match was the amount of umbrellas on the most beautiful sunny day. Asians in general do not like the sun and for this purpose they usually carry a small umbrella or parasol to protect them from the sun and the golf match was no different. Except because it was a golf match everyone brought their GOLF umbrellas...which if any of you know are not on the small size. A typical golf umbrella spans a good 3 feet, needless to say this made viewing a bit difficult at times! But not a problem I just pushed through to the front. The course was really nice and had a floating green. The picture has the floating green in the background. Heinken was the offical sponsor...so you can imagine it was a good time and of course a Ronald McDonald made an appearance beacause there cannot be an event without McDonalds. It was a great day on the Golf Course!
